CA WORKERS COMP REFORM TAKING SHAPE- ONCE AGAIN!

There has been a shift in the claim percentages to apx 2/3 of expenditures on the medical side, where previously it was closer to 50% on indemnity.
Even with workers’ comp costs to employers at its present rate of $2.30 per $100 of payroll, CA is in the top tier. There are too many lawyers in the system; there is too much litigation in the system. The CA constitution says that the people are supposed to have benefits. The focus that this has taken is all about the ins carrier.
